Don't avoid it just 'cause of the hype backlash. I did that and regretted it, because behind all the crack and jokes people make about Kamina, there's some surprisingly hopeful and awesome themes and character growth and crap like that. Or if you don't wanna focus on that, pretty giant robots!

Oh trust me, it's not the hype thing that throws me off, it's just general lack of interest.

I don't usually suffer from hype backlash. If I'm not liking something for it's fanbase, then I'll watch it myself to see if there's anything I can glean from it, before making judgements.

Did that with Naruto, Harry Potter and Hetalia. I'm not fond of any of those fanbases, but still gave the actual fandoms a chance before going, "Eh, not for me," and left. Just because some of you may practice MMAIBTYMA doesn't mean I do.

(I don't "get" Hetalia either. I don't dislike it, I just go "eh, okay then", so I see what you mean.)

Same goes to me as what Celtic said. It was General disinterest. Not Hype Backlash. Besides I've gotta catch up on watching Shinzo and Zipang ^^;
