Well, if it's any comfort: It's been like that between kids and parents throughout the ages. When I was 13 I had to nag about a lot too, didn't get most of the stuff I wanted... And years later I realized why. Parents always try to teach their kids the value of things, be they money, Zoids or whatnot, but especially money. It sounds stupid now (as I thought back then) but it's actually very true. The only thing you can do is go along with them and hope for the best. That, or start saving pennies to eventually say to your parents that you saved all that money up to specifically get that Berserk Fury. I remember back when I was your age (god I sound old now) I saved pocketmoney for months to be able to buy a modelkit of the original USS Enterprise. All the while I was afraid that the shop would sell it before I could buy it (it was a small shop). When I finally got it I was the happiest kid you've ever seen. Of course, later you get a job and you can (hopefully) buy whatever you want.

It's stories like that which make me realise how lucky I am with my parents.
I did smuggle a couple of things when I started collecting (Molga and Stealth Viper) because they were small enough to hide in my bag, and I shaved a tenner off Gordos' price when I told her how much it was, but that was still while I had like 7 or 8 Zoids.
I've never really had a peep out of Mum since about it. Her favourite Zoids are Dark Spiner and Rainbow Jerk XD

Sounds like your mum's afraid you spend your money on the wrong things Deathy. Either that, or maybe there's actually not enough room to put all the Zoids, and hence she objects. Ghostie, that's cool that your mum actually likes the Zoids. It's weird, and I never expected it, but it seems like there are a lot of girls/women who dig Zoids for some reason judging from users on the forums and so. My g/f actually likes (most of) them, while she doesn't really know what to think about most of my other models. Especially with Ma.K. she can't seem to fathom what attracts me so much to it... "It's cool because you made it" is the usual reply when asked an opinion.

I am holding a space for my Saber Tiger SS HMM if I ever get him. Mum's just a religious whacko who thinks Zoids is bad. Mum used to love my Zaber Fang and Shadow Fox >,>;

My mum doesn't approve of my love for Zoids. She says in 12 months time I won't even like them any more! Not true! I have loved Zoids since the moment I saw New Century Zero on the TV in america. My love never died out, it was just forgotten(much to my shame)! She doesn't know that i'll just suddenly go off them! That's happened before, but not this time!
Anyway, ranting over, I agree with Vargen. My dad had actually told me that I need to watch my money, and I do! Being the age I am, I don't need to use my money for much, so it all builds up. I've got plenty to spend on Zoids!

Deathy, I won't even go there. Don't wanna get into trouble with your mum. ;D
Bluey, I think I know why you got the HMM's now as they are a lot more involved than the normal Zoids. Gotta keep focussed on them longer during construction. Which parents think is good (and they're righ!). They teach you a lot more about details, contruction of the parts and such. Even if they don't have a motor.

Mm... what I got...
two glass snake necklace charms from my aunt.
Two colouring books and a jewelry box from my grandma. ( =__= ) then she had a moment of intellegence and got me a snake-print 'goth' cuff.
A space heater. (ff, shuttup XD I NEED it.)
Death Raser and a cobra necklace from ever-awesome ghostie. XD
An upgrade to BC and $20 for an upgrade to WotLK from Amber. XD (world of warcraft stuff.) (And I love Bloodelves. They are awesome. "We're allied with the Tauren? Fantasic! We'll have steak twice a week!" XD And deathknights are fun. XD)

I think you gotta be an orc or a troll to ride a wolf right off. You gotta be horde, I know that. If you wanted to be a nicer looking race, you could be a Bloodelf (requires BC) and work up reputation with the race that has the wolves... WoW is ... pretty good. Spoiler-cut because of wall of text. My two main complaints are against payment and PVP. I had to pay $20 to upgrade to the basic version of WoW... Then to get Bloodelves and Draenei, I had to upgrade to BC - or technically Amber did, for $30. But to have a Deathknight, I had to upgrade to WotLK for $40 - twenty of which Amber gave me. XD; Plus you gotta pay either $10 or $20 a month... I forget, I'm pretty sure it's $20. Also, if you join a server because your friends are there, you're kinda screwed. Example: Amber and Zack are usually on Venture Co, which is RPPVP (RolePlay, Player versus Player), which means once you set foot out of your allignment's territory, you are automatically flagged for PVP and there is nothing keeping the player gods (IE, level 80s) from raping you. (If I designed it, I would've protected the newbs/weaklings by guarding them with level brackets, like a level 80 couldn't attack a level 30 and kill them in one f**k**g hit. </rantrantravehate> ) I have recently joined a RP server (not forced PVP), not sure how things work there. I can tell you this much, the start of the DeathKnights starts in contested territory, so in VentCo, I'm stuck PVP while working on that, but in WRA I wasn't. It was glorious XD Also saw some Alliance in Silvermoon City's inn, not getting killed by guards, so that bodes well. Two allies sitting with three hordes. Hmm... anyway... I also don't like the beginning quests for the races. They seem to all be the same. Gotta kill off some little critter. It's also very frustrating, but somewhat understandable, that you can't communicate across factions. The most you can do is /wave, /hug, /thank, etc. You can't just SAY something, it gets "translated" (garbled) into words from your language (orcish is horde general language, I've also seen Darnassian spoken by the nightelves), you can't MAIL something to an unfriendly target, you can't join a GUILD of the other faction, you can't join a CHAT CHANNEL with other faction members... Makes sense, don't wanna jack off on some asshole that raped you on the field, but having newb bloodelves with crappy stuff on the same server as a 55 nightelf hunter that can get ownage stuff is FRUSTRATING. I DO love DK quests... I gotta fly a big skeletal dragon! But I do like the details in it. There's Day, Evening, Night, atmospheres for different areas, and even rain! I love when it rains. dunno why. I also like the beautiful areas. Though from my understanding, I'm on the thresh-hold of TRUE beauty... as soon as I reach 58, I get to journey to a whole new area. Examples: Ashenvale, I think... (Lake Falathim was there, I'm sure.) Teldrassil coastline. (from the Veiled Sea.) Ashenvale coastline. (Zoram Strand.) Midnight in Stormwind City. Moonrise in Westfall. You can see when I switched from Questhelper to Carbonite. XD And ignore the framecount on the last one. I have other pictures, but they aren't cropped so have screennames visable. In the last picture, you can see that stones and blades of grass in the environment reflects where the moon shines. (And sun.) If I moved the camera the other way, you wouldn't see the shining rocks. So they do take small things into account. And the detail they put in the armor and weapons are awesome. And runed ... and I think enchanted weapons... GLOW. Oh gods, the position of the blade on that last picture *turns red and facepalms*

OMG you have a nightsaber *Super mega glomps nightsaber* AND A HIPPOGRYPH! *Glomps Hippogryph* Sorry, but everything WoW related is awesome to me! And I know what you mean by the whole pvp deal. I have a game with a similar idea. What's annoying is that my characters always got torn to shreds by zombies within 5 seconds of getting too close, but then I found a way to cheat...Muahahahaha...Those zombies regretted the day they ever tore me to shreds!!! *Crazy evil laugh*

Ouch! That's pricey... I make it a personal rule never to buy a game that requires me to keep paying for it after I've bought it.
Same with Xbox 360... I don't see why I should have to keep paying for Xbox Live after I already paid all that out for the console!
I'd love to have a go though, if just to get drunk XD
