Using Adobe Gamma to make what I see on the screen look like it should be. For graphical stuff. Or so they say.
Man, is it me or were the pictures I've posted before this moment really dark (signature, Molga, etc)? I had my monitor set to "what my eyes like". But now I really have to get used to everything being dark.

lol Apparently mine (one) monitor is suppose to be calibrated too so I'm not quite sure how your stuff looked before XD
My problem is going back and forth from mac to pc machines cuz macs are lighter while pcs are darker. If I'm working on my pc I always have to remember to lighten things because stuff always prints out too dark ^^;

They're not dark on my end, but I have my screen rather light/high-contrast. I've had similar prints-too-dark issues as a result, but printing is pretty fickle. One photo service will do totally different things to another, and my mom had one keep "correcting" the colors on her stuff horribly despite her asking them not to. She doesn't use that one any more :p.

Well, after calibrating black looks really black and white looks pretty white now, though maybe with a slight yellow tint to it. But maybe my eyes are just deceiving me.
So... I think it's better than I had it before.
Man, for graphical/colour stuff one really needs a Mac... Though for everything else a PC is prefered.

Macs are PCs, they're just running Mac OS!
The netbook I got for Linuxing supposedly Hackintoshes beautifully as well. I'd do that just for a laugh and to go LOOK, IT'S RUNNING ON A DELL, but I don't have a copy of OS X.

Yeah, but Macs are a lot prettier than PC's. Though you pay for that as well of course. It's like with Star Trek merchandise: Anyhting with "Star Trek" slapped on it is more expensive than counterparts from other franchizes. Still, I *know* PC's. Been using them since the early nineties... And while Mac's (alright, Mac OS's! ) are great for how graphical programs run on them, I prefer a PC for anything else.

Comrade Tilly - I am the same way about the Mac/PC thing! I catch myself saying PC in reference to Windows, and I bug myself for that, because PCs are Personal Computers. (How's that for hypocracy? XD) I try to remind myself that any computer at home is likely a PC, and so I need to clarify Windows/whatever. (Speaking of, I had another debate with my mom about Macs/Windows. >_< I do think I'll see if Mr Gibbons minds if I destroy one of those eMacs in the computer lab, since he says they're never used. XD) So Vargen, what PC are you refering to when you aren't speaking of Macs? XD (I blame the "I'm a Mac" commercials...) To me, they don't look dark, but Blackbird's monitor is different than Spiro's. On Spiro's monitor, my current Tegaki icon was dark and ominous, but on Blackbird's, the supposed skin looks more like snot-dirt. XD;

Yeah I just call windows a pc too. I hate political correctness so I'll just keep calling it a pc to annoy everyone XD
I think it has more to do with the monitor than the OSs since every monitor is different.
Woot Dell! I've always had great experiences with Dells. My old one's 6 years old and still running great, too bad it can no longer handle my programs :,<

Yea, definitely the monitors. XD Eh, I get bugged by it, but never try to correct anyone because I do it too. XD If I corrected everyone, they'd likely correct me right back. Aaaah dell... I miss Spiro. I got him a week or two (maybe three) before Vista came out... And when I finally got a new computer, it was a couple days after 7 came out. XD I skipped the Vista hassle completely.

I just accept everything and don't believe there's an absolute wrong or right for anything. I really don't know how to explain it cuz it's not a "I don't care" thing, it's more of a "oh wow cool I never looked at it that way tell me more on why you think that way" kinda deal. Cuz everyone one thinks different and reasons different ya know? It's so fascinating to listen to different people. It's like the quote in one of Abney Park's song The Wake: "My father says that almost the whole world is asleep. Everybody you know, everybody you see, everybody you talk to. He says that only a few people are awake, and they live in a state of constant, total amazement." ... ok I'll shut up now ^^; Oh hey you name your computers too! lol My new Dell is named Mugen XD I too skipped Vista completely and went to 7. I enjoy 7, but they copied Mac a little too much, although I wish they did copy how you can make spaces in macs.

I name everything. I baffled my computer lab teacher because I named my hacky computer Chicken. (Because it's my sidekick... I still don't understand why Akai and Chris associate chickens with sidekicks, but whatever. XD) And my new computer I call Blackbird because it's sleek and black. XD name subject to change. My Honda was Bianco, and I miss him sooo... ;_; But my Pontiac (Kohebi or Kouki, it's being finicky XD) is trying to make up for it. My GBASP is Mayhem because it's red like in the "Start Mayhem" commercial. XD
Right now, believe it or not, I'm in Flex Lab... Waiting...waiting..waiting for Chicken to install XP. I can now see why we called it a day after finishing the UBCD thing yesterday... His other class started in half an hour... and I've been here now for ... a long time. XD more than half an hour. And I hate deep keyboards.
And OMG, you think 7 looks Macish too? Man, I actually almost punch blackbird every tiem he starts up because a dock-like object appears and my brain goes OH KRATT NOT MAC!!! *RAEG* XD;
...
I do not like these keyboards in lab. Tall keys do not like my fingernails.
EDIT: And daaayumn these monitors in lab are dark. Like MEGA DARK. Makes SBs awesome banner hard to see.

Whoah, I'm not gonna read all that people. ;D When I say PC I mean Windows, like about anyone.
I mean, everyone refers to native Americans as Indians too right. ;D
And my PC is called Deathmachine. My previous PC was called Deathmachine too.

Man, I actually almost punch blackbird every tiem he starts up because a dock-like object appears and my brain goes OH KRATT NOT MAC!!! *RAEG* XD; LOL yes I do XD I was even reading my dad's PC World magazine that featured Windows 7 and all it's features. As I was reading, I kept going "took this from mac, took this from mac". I don't reallly mind it, but it woulda been nice to see they create their own thing instead of copying mac. I actually really like docks over desktop icons, but I don't like the dock that came with 7. I'll have to see if Stardock's object dock can work with 7. @vargen: EXACTLY! Who cares what you call them as long as people know what you're talking about XD

I think 7 looks a bit like OS X looks a bit like an ugly KDE theme, but that's an opinion that'd have several breeds of geek after my head...
The whole PC = Windows thing gets more grating when it's not what you run, trust me ;p. And yeah, Windows so needs to have native virtual desktops (like what Spaces is). I have trouble working without them, especially on laptops, and the addon ones are fiddly in comparison to how smoothly Gnome and KDE and such handle them. I've never used Spaces, but I hear it's somewhat based off the KDE ones?
