Okies, so I decided to start up my own thread like everyone else seems to be doing XD Let's kick off with this WIP: Making use of Shadow Blade's tutorial. I'm nowhere near her level, but it's a start right?

Hey you gotta start somewhere! Lookin good so far. I can definitely see the improvement, esp the crispness of where one shape begins and ends.

Thanks guys! Hey you gotta start somewhere! Lookin good so far. I can definitely see the improvement, esp the crispness of where one shape begins and ends. The layers are hard to keep track of, but it's so much simpler to shade. I can use a big brush without going onto a part I don't want to shade! I see lots of things I need to fix... I should make a note of them cuz I'll probably forget later XD

I usually make folders and do specific parts in their designated folders. Or if I know I won't change a piece, I'll layer merge. Having separate shapes to shade is a heck of a lot easier ^^ I should dig up some of my first attempts XD;

I definitely see the improvement between the two pics.
It is nice someone is use Redler as subject. Redler is my favorite flying zoid.

Redlers are awesome, it's a shame some of the neat zoids are often used for fodder. XD
Sarkany (ghostie's zoid thar) is a redler that was missing wings so she used ... zabat was it? *looks at Ghostie* In any case... Still awesome.
Frix (my OC) and I love fodder zoids.

It was Zabat indeed! Here's the original customThe Redler wasn't actually missing it's wings, I just thought the Zabat ones would look better.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeally old WIP fanart coming up: This was done, probably within the same year that Shadow was created, back when his Zoid was a Fuhrer (Decided to give him a Ghost Liger now, since it's my fav Zoid, and the same colour as his hair.) Bit of a difference between the Shadow here, and the one in my avvi huh?
