@ Blitz - Thank-you. Pirate - Thank-you too. I must find something to get my humbleness back. I still don't think it's that great (or good) *could point to better artists

I'm envious of your traditional colouring skills. :/ I just can't colour that good IRL. XD; *looks like a 7 year old when I colour*

XD; *looks like a 7 year old when I colour* *humbleness blown nobody has told me they like my traditional skills. I do always feel so lowly for not doing digital coloring. And so I feel like I'm not doing my best because I color with pencils and markers.

Actually I think it's great that you do traditional coloring. I just stick to digital cuz I'm extremely messy. Even colored pencils. Somehow I get the colors all over me and don't even get me started on paint...

Somehow I get the colors all over me and don't even get me started on paint... I was so confused on who you were for a sec. you should see the floor around my desk in my room. All the little pieces of colored pencil dust have discolored the nice white carpet. X3 As for paint...let's just say I'm lucky I haven't gotten it anywhere. I think I'm too lazy to do digital coloring, plus my computer is more distracting than anything.

lol yeah I was tired of being confused since everyone changed their names, so I picked the most ridiculous name I could think of and join in on the confuse everyone game XD
Oh yes I remember the dust!

Psh! Are you kidding? When it comes to how I colour, traditional is about 20 times harder than digital. Traditional, you have to worry about pressure so you aren't ruining the picture's texture, path direction, stroke gentleness, and then when you SHADE, you have to make the gradient yourself! Not to mention the lack of undo, layers and transparencies. ( See how I can't even manage an even gradient? You manage to make a smooth gradient so well! GIVE ME YOUR SKIZZELS!) Digitally, I usually just make an extra layer slightly transparent and colour over the lineart. Then there's shading, which is taking the darkest part of the shade and using the blur tool. I'm so lazy!! T_T

lol For me using colored pencils just takes twice as long since I draw out my image, scan and copy it onto canson paper, then apply a layer of clear coat, and now the darks are done so time to apply the white everywhere, then finally add color. It makes for really nice color aand shading though. You HAVE to use art colored pencils, not the kid Crayola/Rose Art stuff cuz they're not soft enough and the white won't go on at all @__@

Hmm, maybe it's time for a tutorial. One thing I use most often that is a more traditional colored pencil technique which is used when "painting" is called burnishing. It's where take a color and press really hard to lay down a flat color or to blend a color into another. Prismacolor makes a colorless blender, which I use to burnish all my shades because I don't like the grainy look of flat colored pencil. I'll make a tutorial
