(not sure where this should go. Feel free to move/yell at me if there's a better place for it. orz)I'm toying with the idea of making a fan anthology. I've seen some in other fandoms and they're pretty cool. I want to organise a Zoids one with comics/art/fics/maybe even photos of custom models*. It will be general-Zoids so anything anime/model/battle story/games/etc-related is welcome. Basically to pull this off I need some people willing to contribute stuff, so I was wondering if anyone was interested? It's not going to happen immediately, so even if you're busy or [insert other excuses here] I'd like to know if you have even a smidgen of interest.  *colour = way more expensive to print than black & white, so I don't know how doable photos/coloured art will be. But I will figure out something if people want to contribute that sort of stuff!

Neato! I take it you'd want to do a comic or some art? (just want an idea of what people want to contribute) I have a few ideas for a comic, but I'm not sure whether I'll have time for it at the moment. Art definitely though! |

Sounds like fun! It would probably get me more motivated to finish those customs I have planned, so I can stick them in!

I have a few ideas for a comic, but I'm not sure whether I'll have time for it at the moment. Art definitely though! I plan to give people a few months to work on their things, so hopefully you'll have time to work on a comic. But art would be awesome too!  |

Awesome! Everywhere I asked there's been a lot more interest than I was expecting. I'm going to look into printing places this weekend to see how doable colour (or partial colour) will be. Within the next week I plan to have a website up with information, sign ups, and a template for art/comic pages. At the moment I'm thinking of having an initial deadline for submissions in early or mid December. That way I can start putting the book together and people have Christmas/New Years break if they need extensions. And then planning to send the book to the printers early 2011. How does that sound to you guys? |

Pending on how many people are interested in purchasing* and if I can come up with a decent design... I've been poking around with Shrinky Dinks lately, perhaps I could do some sort of charm bookmark type thing to include with the anthology?
It could maybe be a chibified version of whatever zoid ends up on the cover.
*Shrinky dink paper is kind of expensive, and I don't want to break the bank on this. XD

I was also thinking of having some prints to go with the book if coloured pages in the book are too much hassle. If there is a big interest maybe they could just be for the first so many people who order. I could also add a bit to the price of the books to help offset the cost of the paper. |
