Even if you aren't a zoologist like me, it certainly is a wonderful place. I just wish the tourism regulations and residential living restrictions were more heavily enforced, to better maintain that natural beauty.

i was expecting heavy controlled bio-security but they were less strict then new Zealand's about the residential living restrictions, there are some as if you are not born there you can't live there and if you leave in 3 years you have to come back or you can never come back on a side note i'm still rtying to find the BBC documentary but alas no luck

Hmm... Well I've pasted it in. Try again next time you have an image that's bigger than 800. Hopefully it'll kick in at some point!

For example, the cattle and goats that these workers claim they depend on for dairy and meat, are trampling tortoise hatchlings while out-competing the adults for food. In addition the marine habitats are rapidly being over-fished to feed the burgeoning human populations that continue to grow from human births, even when immigration is restricted. If those people aren't careful, they'll destroy the very things that make the Galapagos worth living on.

I think every natural places like the island should have stricter bio-security and laws for protecting the environment. I recall Kangaroo Island had some restricted areas that nobody can go into, think it's because it's a breeding ground or something, it's been a while since I watched the travel show that showed the island. Very few people live there too. (from what I couild recall anyway :s)
