Thought I'd start a new thread for this guy since I posted the WIP a long time ago and this just keeps it neater.
Well, anyone remember this guy?
I decided to use the contest as an excuse to finish him.
Given how long this guy's been in the pipeline for, I'm proud to finally have him finished
I decided on the Red Mutant colour scheme because I've been in an OER mood lately, but my paintwork is a bit... well... second rate. Still, this is the first time I've ever entered a custom contest, so I thought why not? Win or lose, at least I can say I've done it!
The thing I'm most pleased about is the missile pods in his back. I did originally want them facing forwards, but couldn't find a cover to fit that way. Facing backwards the Red Horn canopy fit in perfectly, and thinking about it, facing forwards it might've shot its own crests off ^^;
Covering the holes in the neck was the hardest part, and I'm still not happy with the way I've done it TT_TT
I did think about having an extra weapons system for this guy with Geno Saurer guns that can replace the wings, but a) I ran out of ball joints, and b) last time I removed the wings to paint, one of the ball joints broke off, and I had a hellova time trying to get it to stick back on.

. It's just amazing how much paint can transform a fella
