Here are the last two customs I manage to get entered, Amaterasu and Silence.
Amasterasu
I was playing the Okami game when I thought it would cool to have Amaterasu as zoid. Then I realized, why not customized a zoid to Amaterasu? I even had paint that was perfect for custom, a pearl white dubbed as “White Lighting.”
Using the sheet of plastic to cut out varies of shapes to make wing/feather look of Amasterasu and cover up the details on Command Wolf to give a sleeker look.
I use putty to give the tail a brush appearance, (in game, Amaterasu’s tail is her paintbrush) and fill the gaps on the joints. I had made boosters for Amasterasu to explain her high speed, but the glue didn’t hold, so I left them off. I had originally going to make custom decals for Amaterasu’s red markings, but I used a red sharpie instead and drawn the markings on. I felt the hand drawn texture simply fits Amasterasu better than crisp lines.

The armors were an afterthought, I was going to do without to keep Amasterasu sleek as possible, then I painted them anyway.
I used the Van figure to make Issun, Amasterasu’s companion and pilot. I gave the figure a haircut and used a button to make the oversize hat that Issun wears.
Blade Liger Silence
Blade Liger Silence is one of those customs I did it because it was there. I found the purple paint that perfect shade that I liked, so HMM Blade Liger became the first zoid to try out the paint. I just threw in other colors because it didn’t clash with the purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors and I wanted a purple liger for some time.
While I did partial repaints with HMM Great Saber and HMM Liger, Silence is the first complete repaint I did on a HMM zoid. HMM Zoids fits together exactly, leaving no room at all for paint. For Blade Liger, it’s the head that gave most trouble, especially the largest fins has to slide into slot on head-piece to order to be attached. That where one of areas that I had most trouble with paint being scraped off. The best thing to do is widen the space so those painted parts can move freely, without scraping. Surprising, the legs never gave me any problems at all, even though they are painted too.
The stealth idea/story happened on spur of moment, I was turning off lights in room where I had been working on Silence. Silence was laying there almost complete, I was surprised how well Silence was blending in the dim room.
I loved how Silence colors looks together, giving Silence a very unique look.
