Ok, my friends and I finally got to play the Zoids Assault game since Mark's brother was being a starscream and wouldn't give up the Wii so we could play Starfox Assault.... maybe that's why we call him starscream....
anyway, the zoids game....
x-brick 360 only, 1 player only strategy game
We only got to play 1 and probably... 2/5 levels, but from what I saw, was pretty freakin sweet. The graphics in it make all the previous zoids game weep in corner with a strawless juicy juice box in comparison. Also the soundtrack and voice acting was actually... good *GASP*.
Starting out, you get to read a nice summary about the conflict between 2 small countries, Maroll with alliance to the Helic, and Jamil with alliance to Guylos. That's about all I know, cuz I didn't feel like reading it and just wanted to see stuff blow up.
Then you go into a cut scene all done with a photo montage of paintings. Once again I don't know anything from it cuz I was far more interested in eating cheeseballs, and making fun of how it looked like Gundam Seed.... and wanting to blow stuff up. There was a blonde chick talking to a group, and some guy in a wheel chair in the background.... that is the extent of my knowledge. The interesting thing is, you're actually playing what she recalls from memory of what happened in the war.
After that, it's finally time to blow stuff up... oh wait, situation briefing thing and customization, then you finally get to blow stuff up. You get to command an army of zoids rather than just one and you get to customize them with different arsenals and paint jobs. Colors range from blue, green, white, blue/red, grey, and the Fuzzy Panda's colors... seriously, the yellow and blue Tigers Team colors, though we called it the IGPX color scheme XD
TO THE BATTLE FIELD.... TO BLOW STUFF UP!!!!
Alright, you get to start out with 2 command wolfys, 2 shieldys, and a debison. The one Shield Liger's a white mage (which we ironically kept all white), and the rest are the fighters, pretty much. Typical strategy game, move the zoids where ever the little blocks allow you, and to my disappointment, you can't stick one on a tree in the middle of nowhere. The game play was fun, and even just fun to watch, and also had a good support system in the game play. The entire game play was nicely detailed graphics wise with the zoids having that awesome grungy war machine look and different views when the zoids would attack one another. And when the zoid was defeated... it blew up. A super special awesome explosion of fire and armor pieces ;D
That's about as far as we got in the game, listening to the blonde chick talk about something and blowing stuff up. YAYZ!
Overall I rate the game a 4 1/2 of an oreo out of a cupcake... (it's good *BUY IT says the voices in your head* It's Zoids, you know you want to)
