There are different types of generic characters though! I know what you mean, some I like because they seem familiar and the only reason why they're generic is because they're a good type of character to have. Others I think everyone tries to use and only a few people can get it right.
That doesn't make much sense, does it?

No, not really. Doesn't explain why I like a good chunk of Street Fighter characters for example. Mostly national stereotypes and stock characters, but I find them to pull it off with style. And kickass theme music.  King Dedede is win on the other hand. I also tend to go for Large Ham Villains with equally hammy voice acting. Helps generic villains get that added boost. |

Ah hahah! I usually NEVER like main characters of really any show with Soul Eater being the exception (Cuz I love pretty all the characters in that show XD). I'm so with you with hating the constant Thomas and Rosso/Viola almost dying stuff. That was so annoying and I thought Reese and Karl were awesome characters. Dr. D was just too amusing not to love and even though Raven's quite cliche, I did like how they at least gave him a back story (Though all they had to say was he was raised by Prozen and that would've explained everything "Oh THAT'S why you're a prick! k!")
I've seen Zoids NC waaaaaay too many times. It's weird cuz I know everyone says how they can hear RD or Light without thinking of Harry, but I always heard those three as Quatre since I saw Gundam Wing first X3
Um yeah, so likes.. Jack Sisco, Stoller, Polta, Kirkland, and Dr. Toros are my top favs... then I don't like Harry (sorry I find him annoying XD;) Leena and Jamie and OMG BIT CLOUD. Leon's in the gray zone. I like him, but I hate him at the same time. His constant "full potential" speeches was annoying.
Now Fuzors (oh lol fuzors) I pretty much hate everyone except Helmet, Zechs Merquise Blake, and Burton. Helmet cuz he was one of the few who was normal, Blake cuz he was Zechs Merquise, and Burton cuz he's the zoid incarnation of Starscream with hilariously awesome 80s reject hair.
Genesis was another where I didn't like too many characters. I danno they were just too bland or cliche for me. Ron was totally awesome though and Tize was cool. He deserved more screen time D:

Whhheeee so much to cover! x3 On Raven... He's an ok character, I wish he would have had more then the generic uber villain back story. But of his two background stories I prefer the one of the manga-verse. And for the record I totally support Raven/Reese!  I think they would make a very awkward but cute couple. Though something tells me it would 'officially' happen a good deal of time after GF. I think this is a popular pairing but fangirls who love pairing themselves OC's with him give the fandom a vibe that it's not very popular. Correct me if I'm wrong? @shadow- I know what you mean when I watch Gundam 00 every time I hear Hallelujah/ Allelujah's voice I think of InuYasha. ;-; It's horrible. Edit: As a disclaimer- I have no problem with OC's at all, I just don't like people throwing their OC together with a canon character with no logical process at all and then defending it to the death. x.x In addition to trashing said canon character whom the OC replaced. |

Yeah, I've noticed that it happens to Reese. A lot.
Not to mention the assloads of KarlXSelf-Insert SueOC on FF.net.
It's like a plague if I say so myself.

I kind of pity Reese, she's always thrown under the bus as a creeper, but given the snippets of her past we've seen give her a break, would you act any different? I don't want to turn this into any type of hate thread so I'll make this brief. Karl is a tiny bit better since you don't have anyone to pair him with in the anime so he's kind of at the author's mercy. Though I will stand by my belief that if you can make an OC who is not Sue-ish AND give me a logical progression as to why x fell for y, I will hear your story out. My main gripe with ff.net is I prefer adventure to romance. Unfortunately most of ff.net puts romance before adventure so my options are limited. XD Now I will shut up and get back on topic in fear of the admins.  |

Yah, that's probably a good idea. Not a big fan of primarily romance fics, been trying my hand at an adventurous fic about post GF that isn't all happy and stuff. I could tell you about it on IMs or something. For favorites, I already said Fiona and Reese. I like Thomas as well, he's such a adorkable little geek and it makes me sad to see him get the short stick of just about everything. I also imagine him as a Mega Man nerd. |

And it's fear of those linchers that make me write near comlete OC character fics. I might hint back to a main source like I will in ALIENS vs Zoids, but unless its something that I cant avoid, I try not to include canon characters, it makes it easier for people to swallow and doesnt get me lynched...

HEHEHAHAH. To be honest the writing isn't that bad, its not fantastic and nothing much happens in the 'fic, but it's not badly written.. It's not great writing either though. It's just the concept of it that made me giggle.
