So, myself and Ghostie were having an early morning discussion the other day, and it came down to the multitude of zoids in our room and me trying to figure out what the closest real life counterparts to these zoids would be in reality. Here is what I've got so far, perhaps you can think of some too! 
Zoid name: Command Wolf
Military classification: Scout vehicle
RL equivilent: Leichter Panzerspähwagen
Zoid name: DiBison
Military classification: Missile Artillery
RL equivilient: M270 MLRS
Zoid Name: Shield Liger
Military classification: Light Tank
RL equivilient: M551 Sheridan
Zoid Name: Blade Liger
Military classification: Medium tank
RL equivilient: M4 Sherman
Zoid Name: Liger Zero
Military classification: Main Battle tank
RL Equivilient: Leopard II
Zoid Name: Death Saurer (not the giant mutated anime one
)
Military classification: Super Heavy Tank
RL Equivilient: Panzer VIII Maus
Although perhaps the anime version could be played by the Landkreuzer P. 1500 Monster:
Thankfully though, the P. 1500 never made it past project stage.
