Very much. Actually makes the Heldi look fierce. I think they work well since they match the teeth nicely. Forgot to mention before but I like the slight weathering you did as well. That always makes them feel more realistic.

Your Heldigunner has a lot to answer for! It made me go to eBay the other day and purchase a RCZ Heldi XD
I do love the claws idea though.
What's the rubber like on the RCZ's pipes?

Thanks again all!
Yeah, I don't know what it is with Heldy: When I bought him (from eBay) he just spoke to me... I didn't know all that much about Zoids then (huh, two months ago?) and all I knew were the old Zoids I had as a kid. He didn't look anything like those... But I thought what the heck! He just looked so wickedly sinister with his black and glowy parts and that big Alien-like canopy. Heldy just rocks even if he's a poor wind-up Zoid. ;D
About the pipes: Read that these things can crack on some Zoids? I'm not all that familiar with other kits (only the Deadborder I now also have has such pipes), so I'm not sure. but they don't feel like they'll break or anything. I guess at their absolute worse they could be replaced with some metal coil springs run over thick solderwire.

The pipes on Dead Border aren't too bad, as the position they're in puts less stress on them, but I heard that the NJR/NAR/NER Heldis were released with more fragile pipes... I personally have gone through 4 sets ^^;

The Heldi that I got from Ghostie had two broken pipes but they're easily concealable. I was gonna give the boy a new set, lol
