There have been four different animes for Zoids released to date:
Chaotic Century/Guardian Force (CC/GF)
New Century Zero (NC0/Slash Zero)
Fuzors (FZ) - Not aired in the UK
Genesis (GZ) - Not aired outside of Japan
Now, since I've heard this asked a couple of times, Zoids Generations is not an anime! It's a battle story, so to speak, but it's never been turned into an Anime.

I remember watching the 1st ep of Fuzors when it first aired over here and eeped at the voice acting @_@ That and I didn't like how they just recycled the hero/villain's zoid from new century. And zoids shouldn't fuse together like zords! XD
Thankfully they made Genesis. That was a great zoids series.

I jaw dropped when someone told me Harry Champ's VA voiced RD... It turned out better than I thought though... guess I have very low expectations... haven't finished watching the series yet ^^;
Yeah that was kinda lazy to just use LZ and BF again...

Ya, poor Brad Swaile gets lousy characters, Quatre from Gundam, and then Harry and RD from zoids. But at least he got to play a good character... LIGHT FROM DEATH NOTE!!!

He also voiced Nightcrawler in X-Men Evolution... He does better VA-ing in German it would seem. Yes... I heard about that... thankfully all mine are fansubs (Eep... look at me breaking my own rules... Y'know what, I don't think I care about that one any more since the rules are getting a revamp anyway  ) so I got the Jap voice, but when I heard about Brad getting Light all I could think about was "I'm Yagami Light, and I'm a man destined to be God!" Infact... I'm partway through drawing that! |

Infact... I'm partway through drawing that! ROFL!!! I can't wait to see that pic then! He actaully does a really good job playing Light in my opinion, but I can't get Harry out of my head when I'm watching it. I can't watch subs, cuz i'm usually working on something and I'll listen more than watch. Though Zoids Genesis is a worthy exception to that ;D Heh heh, Ghostie breaking her own rules... *In a zombie voice* "One of us!!! Come, join us Ghostie. Join us!" |

I'm tempted to start collecting the english DVDs when they come out over here (if they haven't already) just to hear the entire Fuzors cast in Death Note! Doc Tros as Ryuk? Burton as L? This is almost as bad and when I identified almost every character in Spiral to be from Fullmetal Alchemist ^^;
I shall make finishing that pic my top priority then! Just need to work out how Light's eyes should look in chibi form! I'll see how other people have done it!
Incidentally, I agree with you on the dubs thing! I often draw whilst watching anime, so it's tough when you need to keep an eye on the screen 100% of the time so as not to miss anything... that and the TV keeps cutting the bottoms of the subs off on my burnt discs... I have to watch them on the computer otherwise I can't read it!

I have only seen two zoid series really, though one thing is nagging me like crazy now that i have been watching the series again...
Chaotic Century starts with Van and Fiona at a young age, then between the span of 1 year (supposedly) he has turned from a 4 ft 8 inch tall boy to a 5 ft 9 inch tall soldier boy..
Same with fiona, so yeah... Explain to me the logic of this, did the republic give him Steroids or something?

According to Absolute Anime, Van is 14 in Chaotic Century and 17 in Guardian Force, in both the Japanese and English versions.
I seem to recall hearing a one year gap mentioned, but it really don't make sense... was it mentioned in the anime? It's been a while since I seen those eps.

I thought Fiona said 3 years? Though lets be honest, Van looks 11 at the oldest in the first half of CC. What really bugs me is that everyone's voice is the same in the second half, especially Raven, Raven remains as captain squeaky voice. Seriously, its like his voice is constantly breaking but never quite there o_e

I know exactly how you feel about that pirate, it's just been so agitating trying to figure it out... Maybe we can just make a short animation explaining this 1-3 year gap, perhaps just him running about training like a mad man lol
still, its quite baffling and when i was young i never noticed it lol

So much to watch, so little time TT_TT *Snerk* Captain Squeaky Voice! That reminds me... If they use the same voice actor for young Raven and older Raven, then WTF happened in Zoids Battle Legends?? I mean what? Didn't they pay the guy to do both Ravens in the game? Seriously, older Raven is fine, but younger Raven... Have you heard his voice? It's painful... That's why I always use older Raven. |
