Behold the bootleg zoids thread! Here you can post pics, reviews, comparisons of bootlegs or talk about some of the bootlegs that exists.
Had a Robotic beast given to me and I figured to talk about it some. Robotic Beasts are bootlegged zoids consisting of the Shield Liger, Dibison, Dimetrodon, and Gojulas. They come prebuilt and instead of the battery compartment in the zoid, these guys feature a remote control that attached to thezoid Robotic Beasts via wire up the butt (literally). If you live in the U.S., you can pick one of these guys up for about $10 at your local Big Lots store. My local Big Lots just had the weird Dimetrodon one (it's like half Dimetrodon, half Red Horn). Took some pics comparing it to the original Shield liger, in this case the Desert Liger. I have to admit the white is kinda cool because it has a purple tint to it and the red canopy is awesome. There are suppose to be red hoses attached to it as well, but Mel apparently lost those ^^;
None of the mane pieces are originally able to fold out and the canopy doesn't come up, but all you have to do is cu the little tabs of plastic they used to keep them shut.
My favorite part. They didn't even smooth out where the flashes once were is some places XD
Now some comparison shots to see what has changed:
At first glance they look exactly the same, but the first things you'll probably notice is the removal of the poor thing's ears, a shorter tail, and the lack of other details in the head. Also missing the cover plate on the belly that connects to the chest gun.
The frontal view shows how the side mane pieces are different. Regular Shieldy's man pieces are straight, robotic beasts shieldy's mane pieces stick further out as they go up.
Notice the wires that go from the head to the back are missing in robotic beasts shieldy as well.
Apparently they just shortened the tail, then added the end piece on upside down.
