One of my favorite animes/games/manga that threatens to top Zoids sometimes it the .hack project/conglomerate. I've never played the games, but I've followed the entire storyline from start to finish and I can't wait for .hack//LINK to be released, even though it sounds like it's gonna be bad. And it looks like it's just gonna be a manga and game this time, no anime set. And the manga comes out in June. I'm excited. I really like everything about .hack and it progressed in very nice way. I know alot of people dislike .hack just because the plotholes are so large, but it leads to alot to be assumed or thought about and I like thinking about it. I mean sometimes I really think this story wins fr the amount of intentional plotholes it contains. I also love the music, Yuki Kajiura did amazing work on Sign and ALI project did alot of good stuff for ROOTs. So I was wondering if anyone here likes .hack too.

I only played the first .hack. I sort of got bored of it halfway through.
Anyways, I looked up the plot of .hack a while ago and its plot seems too overly complex. Plus it's all in different games/manga/anime/OVAs/whatever and I don't have that kind of money to spend on those things.
I personally prefer simpler plots that aren't complete messes, but that's not to say I don't like thinking. Hell, I like Metal Gear Solid's plot.

Even though all the seasons are connected, they don't lead to same thing. So they are seperate, just like the seperation between CC/GF and NC0. And we've determined that it's so complex because it's so simple. I think that's why I enjoy it so much. I wasn't implying that people don't think when they watch stuff. Maybe I should have said .hack is show that demands you to think if you even want to know what it's about, because unless you try to fill in gaps, you end up lost.

;D It's a pity you posted this just as Ghostie went to bed or she would be waxing lyrical about this I should imagine I must get around to rewatching Legend of the Twilight, I kind of preferred that to Sign, although I liked Bear and Mimiru from Sign and Sanjuro from Legend.

It's hard for me to watch Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. Mostly because it's non-canon, that is it doesn't follow the official timeline, even though a lot of us crazy fans will argue that it connects directly into the destruction of the World R:1, but the manga is the canon one. I like the animation though, Sanjuro is pretty cool too, however Balmung is my fav and Kamui next (even though she can be a bitch). Have you ever watched Roots?

I've not watched or played .Hack, but I have some of the songs... Mainly because I was telling Lori about how music sounded in a dream (like Irish and Techno together) and she showed me .Hack music, and I went OH EM GEEEEEEE. That's it! XD;

I played violin for a really long time, so a lot of the songs Yuki Kajiura wrote features a lot of interesting patterns of violin phrases.

Oh man, you make me wish I could play violin so I could appreciate it like you do. The song that first got me hooked (due to the similarity of Illusory's music) was the World, it has lots of violins in it. I want to buy the .hack soundtrack sometime. XD

XD Good luck with that, it's a bit pricey now. I luckily had a friend who got it, unfortunately it was stolen when her hotel in New York was robbed, but we saved a digital copy of it a long time ago. Any instrument she used in her composition automatically becomes amazing. Have you seen the live version of The World? www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Rie5EgnCM

TSUKASA!!
So far I've seen Sign, played Infection and Mutation, read Legend of the Twilight, and watched the first few eps of the Legend of the Twilight anime.
Oh, and watched disc one of Liminality
I've got Vol 1 of the Sign soundtrack too. Regrettably, the website I ordered it from went out of business right after. Something to do with a supplier problem. I got the .hack and Fruits Basket Soundtrack quickly, but it was about a month before my Galarians one came through.
Sign'll always be my favourite.

It takes up a good amount of space on my MP3 player cause there's 12 total soundtracks so far. And Sign will also be my favorite. Sora was my fave.
