heh, threadomancy! Reviving because I did an unintended zoids-spreading today... There's something that came up in the Avatar RP about a new series/piece of info about something that involves steampunk and a Republic City. (Our little group sez "Ah screw it, let's leave our group like it is and forget about that". Me personally I think "AtLA and Steampunk? does not compute. >.<") One person goes "Does Republic City scream Star Wars to anyone else?" My reaction:

Actually, I was reading that Aang was originally supposed to be from an ancient, advanced civilisation that existed 1000 years before the start of the series and his companion was Momo the robot monkey. Ancient Zoidians much?
And in some ways Avatar is a little bit steampunk, if you think about the Mechanist and all the fancy Fire Nation technology. Iunno. I think a modern Avatar would be pretty cool, just for the funny signs they could use "Firebending is prohibited in public places" at a park or "WARNING: Earth benders at work!" in front of a building site. Iunno I'm being silly.

Yeah I think there was a lot of steampunk in the fire nation and don't forget about the steampunk like city that Teo's father made out of the Northern Air Temple ;D

To have steampunk everywhere would not be fun. :/ that's just me.
