Do your zoids have special names? If yes, what are they and why? Or if not, do you think its daft to name zoids?
I used to think it was daft to name stuff, but that's just because I couldn't think of any names, so I have....
Steamy the Shield Liger, because he was originally meant to be a steampunk zoid. He's currently in bits on my windowsill o_e
Hervy the Command Wolf Irvine, short for Hervy-Irvey-Irvine, I used to call him Irvey, but I like Hervy more.
Penelope the Helcat, yeah I dunno why I called her Penelope, she was a he when I first got her, but there's just something... Really feminine about helcats, you know? Probably not.

We have:
Knight Lupus the Hasbro Command Wolf because he looks like a warrior
Mitchell the GunSniper just because
Greyscale (formerly Egypt) the Rev Raptor, now named after his colourscheme
Atlantis the Brachios because I saw one of the underwater forms in a manga and it just stuck
Mark the HMM GunSniper (normal) because the white parts reminded me of my albino OC
Naomi/Redclaw (interchangable) the HMM GunSniper Naomi
Night Jackal the Shadow Fox (Yes, I jacked the Shadow Fox's name to make an original zoid. XD) for no particular reason
Camaron the Ultrasaurus because of the dinosaur, though the name got mutilated in more ways than one.
Joule the Energy Liger because Joule is a measurement for electricity
Gozi the Gojulas Giga because in the movie I saw, the man called Godzilla "gozira".
Schubert the aquazoid because I was pondering names during Music Appreciation when we listed to Franz Schubert's trout music thing.
Leetlet the mantiszoid because I paid $13.37 for him. (1337 is leet for leet)
Scrap the Dimetreptera because he's scrappy.
Patches the Shield Liger because he's patched together from shieldie and bladie bits.
Tulip the Geno Breaker because the night before I picked him up from the post office, he appeared in my dream and went, "my name is Tulip." I asked why, he showed me the pincer-pod thing and said "Look, it looks like a tulip!" ... seriously.
Kaiser (Kai for short) the Death Saurer because of Dark Kaiser.
Xerxes the HT raynos. I originally named it after one of Lori's characters, but the X-name was weird and Xerxes fit better and isn't the name of a character belonging to the one who hurt me.
Kirkland the HT Saberfang because of Kirkland.
Omari the action figure saberfang because of Omari. XD
Lineback the itty bitty zaberfang because of Lineback. XDD
Fred Munchausen the Berserk Fury, because when I picked him up in the thrift store I started going "I'm going to take you home, fix you up and name you Fred the Fury! ...." And then he kept falling to pieces which made me think of Munchausen's. XD
Fivebrand the Diloforce because of dilophosauruses representing Ayenians (original race) and my favourite Ayenian is Fivebrand.
Collin the Diloforce because of same reasoning and Collin was a mute Ayenian prince.
Gijgeju the Diloforce for same reasoning and the fact that Gijgeju broke (the character Gijgeju is a torture specialist. It fits in an ironic sort of way...)
Cairo the Konig Wolf because I was watching a documentary on Egypt. Sometimes nicknamed Amaterasu because of my sharpie job on him. XD
Moses the Mosasledge because the first five letters of the zoids name made me think of it.
Palkia the Liger Zero because I was making a Midnight+Hiou custom and thanks to a dream I had, I associate Hiou with Palkia so I codenamed it Palkia.
Shadow the Liger Zero Midnight Shield because midnights make shadows. I just don't use it on here that much so Ghostie's OC doesn't get confused. XD
Big Red/Mr. T the Sturm Tyrann because he's big and red and Tyrann starts with T. I can't stick with one. I PITY DA FOO.
Qualm the Glaive Quama for how close Quama looks to Qualm and also for political reasons.
Kenshin the Liger Zero X because he's got a red armour unit and a blue one that has cutty sword like things on it and I was in a Kenshin craze when I got him.
Eris the Berserk Fury after the Goddess of Chaos and Dischord.
Ra the Saicurtis because the sun god is sometimes seen as a scarab beetle.
Jason the Red Blade Liger because the name just seemed to fit.
Techno the Viper because I DON'T KNOW.
Crikey the barigator because he's a crocodile and I loved Steve Irwin.
Felix the Serpent because of a conversation between Amber and me involving the Serpent looking like it's in a wheel chair and Felix (from Kim Possible) is in a wheelchair.
Shamrock the Liger Zero Panzer because he is green and I am lucky to have him. XD He's my Shamrock.
Black Phantom the Liger Zero Schnieder because the colourscheme was stolen from my first original zoid of the same name.
Gary the Garius because IT JUST FITS.
Taran the Spiderzoid because the Japanese name had Taran in it and it made me think of the Black Cauldron.
Nero the Sablewolf (customized Command Wolf) because of Nero the Sable and I'm a fucking diehard fangirl.
D-Roy the Diploguns because it has a headpiece that look's like D-Roy's (from Bleach).
Sagara the Pteras because I really don't remember.

I've got Christian the Shield Liger, but that's it so far. And my unfinished HMM Genobreaker is named Altra, after one of my zoids OCs! I'm trying to give the others names too though.

Leoblaze= Jasper (don't ask me why, it just popped into my head when I got him)
Dino Expo Geno Saurer= Bones
Zaber Fang= Flash
Redler= Nikolai (tho I have a Custom Redler with this name ^^; )
Berserk Fuhrer= Jarost' (romanized Russian for "Fury")
Soon-to-come Evil Pegasus= Frank (blame Ghostie XD)
Blade Liger Leon= Firestorm
I think that is all, so far. Will be able to come up with more once I'm able to have all of my Zoids on display. It's hard to think of nicks when they're not out XD
