Our cats are strictly indoors now, and have been for years. They used to wander around outside, but Rebs keeps ripping her claw on the tree in the backyard and Tabs keeps running off (she'd always return tho but we worry since there's dogs around). So we keep them indoors. They don't really care now XD

Ha, my aunt used to allow cats outdoors, but Bud would tumble from trees when he wanted to come in, and we lost a senior cat for two days before he came home on his own, so ours are strictly indoor, too. Both by aunt and by my mom.

One of our old cats, Dot, used to go off wandering for days before coming home, but both her and Dash (yes our cats were called Dot and Dash, my brother had been doing Morse code in scouts when my parents got them) were super independent, so we didn't worry too much. Millie's the complete opposite, but I think she used to be a house cat before we got her, she only spends long periods of time outside if there's someone else with her.

Tigger's really the only cat that wanders, although Mishka was found by the neighbor over in the farm out the back. That's unusual for her to leave the garden. I hope she's not going to make a habit of it.
Isis is too old to jump over the fence to get out of the garden, and Nikita is too scared to stay out for long.

Farms are a great place for the cats natural hunting instinct to kick in ..they are usually full of mice, we backed onto a farm once and my old family cat 'Milo', (named after milo and otis of course and is now 19 years old) would bring back quite a large amount of mice he liked to leave behind the shed

The problem is that Mishka is not a hunter. She never brings things back anyway. And and we're worried because people know Tigger, but not Mishka, and since Mishka doesn't have a collar, and a really bad scabby nose where her allergies have started playing up for the summer, we can't help but be concerned some well meaning person might pick her up and take her. I'm hoping the fact that's she's fat and that her fur is in brilliant condition might make people twig she's got an owner, but where I live, the majority of people have no common sense.

@ghostie: Both of my old cats were long-haired and Dash always looked really ratty (he never let us brush him, he had to be shaved every few months to beat the tangles, which made him look like a poodle) and he had a thin build, but he used to eat all of his food, most of his sister's, then my neighbour would look out her kitchen window and see the bird-table house thing swaying with a big bushy tail hanging out (she puts ham and chicken out for the birds, she's shaped like a twig =_=) but because he was so scraggy looking some of my other neighbours always used to give him tuna and cream. Dash was the original six-dinner Sid, I swear. I don't have any photos of Dash on my computer right now, I'll have to search through the photo albums to find some, but here's Dotty, she was the loveliest cat in the world and used to sleep on my head at night!

She was a really lovely cat, but we had to have her put down when she was 16 because she had a tumour on her shoulder :/
I love black and white cats too and I really miss having fluffy cats!
Errr collared doves? Dash used to got a pigeon once and headless squirrels were common =_= He seemed to always eat the head and leave the rest.

Do pets have to be microchipped in The U.k? :EDIT: Do CATS have to be I should say?

Do pets have to be microchipped in The U.k? :EDIT: Do CATS have to be I should say? Its not illegal not to microchip your cat, but they prefer it if you do, most people don't though because its so damn expensive! Millie was chipped, but that's because the Cat's Protection League used her to train people how to microchip a cat, so we got her chipped for free... On top of the £45 donation you have to give :/

On top of the £45 donation you have to give :/ now you got a sweet deal! XD just so long as a newbie doesn't injure the poor thing and here it's kinda different, all cats must be registered with the council which also means microchipped, but that does not at all mean everyone does. same thing it's too expensive for alot of people. so laws on cats are hardly pursued

We want to get Tig and Mishka chipped, but as mentioned it's pricey!
The dogs have been chipped though.

Fancy all these cat-lovers. I don't hesitate to admit I also have a soft spot for the feline persuasion. <3 I have my own kitty, just a few years old, whom I call Suna-chan because of the color of her fur. (Suna means "sand" in Japanese!) She yawns a LOT, so it was pretty easy to get this photo of her making a silly post-yawn face: She's quite sweet, but very shy of strangers. She also sheds like crazy. xD She's an indoor cat, as pampered as can be, and is quite fond of her usual schedule: Sleep, Eat, Groom, Sleep, Watch Birds, Sleep, Eat, Groom, Hack up a Hairball, Groom, Sleep. xD

LOL, hack up a hairball
Cute pic! XD She sounds kinda like Irvine. Yea, I named him after the zoids character. XD But kitty-Irvine is such a chicken cat, but such a great sweet thing. Sometimes he just jumps into my lap and falls asleep.
