Has anyone else ever hated, disliked, or just didn't care about a character, but then learned to love them over the years? It could be a human or zoid, from any series.
I know for me I absolutely hated Thomas when I was younger. He annoyed me so much. Now I find him quite amusing, and I kinda pity him a little. ^^; Him and Stinger (ironic, cause they're voiced by the same person in the dub). Always hated him as a kid, but now I think he's wonderful. XD
And even though I'm such a fan of Reese, I actually didn't really like her at first. I can't exactly tell you why, she just kinda.. rubbed me the wrong way. But she grew on me, especially after I saw the final four.
Zoids? Used to hate the Death Stinger. Thought it was overpowered as crap. And it looked a little silly. XD Didn't like Gojulas' (plural?) at first either (but that may have been Herman's fault).
Used to dislike Jager greatly, mostly cause Bit overused it. But I can sort of appreciate it now.
I know there are others. I'll think of them later.

Only real characters I can think of at the moment are Thomas and Reese.
Again, rewatching the episodes makes me feel sorry for both of them. And Reese seems like a really interesting character.
As for Thomas, he's a nerd and I like nerds.

Hmmm...Reese...she creeped me out at first...now I want my GF to cosplay as her...
Naomi...her fiery temperment...til I met my GF...
far as Zoids:
Liger Zero Panzer: I thought it sucked until I ended up using it as part of a custom Zoid...
Seismosaurus: It broke the trend of suped up Tyrannosaurs...stilll...it had the best CPC in that whole series...
All Bio Zoids: Absoulutely found it blasphemy at first...still do, but atleast Bio Volcano and Bio Tyranno are forgiven...
Hmmm...the MODEL of the Deathsaurer, it doesnt look as much like godzilla as the anime deathy! Oh well, they can only do so much right?
Blade Liger: God-Mod in the flesh! Until I watched all of CC/GF and saw how many times it's been trashed, then I loved it cause it stayed with the Battle Story.

Let me think... I wasn't a big Harry Champ fan at first, he really irritated me, but I've gotten to the point I can appreciate him for his funniness and such. Same goes for Leena.
Then there's Stinger. Man, he's a roller coaster. I was mildly interested, then really didn't like him, then after I played Legacy, I really started liking him. (how legacy helped I have no idea.)
I think there's more, but I'm not remembering at the moment.

Ambient. I hated him for the longest time (the whole omnoming cute wittle Raven scene is what did it :/) and only recently got over it. I even wrote a whole fic about him being the 'good guy' just to show it. Llama heard me rant about that all day today. XD |

Zoids wise, I didn't like the Geno Breaker much, until I saw photos of the model kit.
Character wise, I was meh about Polta until I met Wiki. I drew him for her and began to appreciate him more ^^

ROFL yea Stinger for sure.. not to fond of him on first impression, but watched a few years later and OMG He is just so Evilly gay! Hilarious
and Ron in Genesis. never hated him at all but he really grew on me throughout the series, same can be said for his bear fighter

Let's see... character wise I hated Alteil at first until the ep where they're excavating the Fury underwater and the whole "have the gone yet" with the Warsharks. Was just way to amusing X3
Then I didn't like Stinger at first, but I started to like him in the same way Vig did.
I didn't like anyone from Fuzors at first, but then Blake, Burton, and Rastanni (sp?) grew on me. Blake for being Zechs Marquise, Burton after he said "I hope you all drop out of the sky" (and cuz he pilots Lord Gale), and Rastanni after that ep about his brother and how he cared for his Blade Liger.
Same with Genesis, I didn't care for anyone other than Tize and Ron, who I liked immediately cuz I knew he had a differant background from the rest. But then Zairin grew on me.

OH! Most of the Tenka Muteki no Muteki Dan! (did I remember that right? Egads...) Except for ... uh... that little chibi Bianco. I still don't know if chibi Bianco was a boy or a girl. XD; I always loved chibi Bianco just because ... Chibi Bianco! Anyway... I hated most of them, found them annoying, and then Genesis freaked me out. Me: I hate them all. Except for Chibi Bianco. I wouldn't mind if they all just disappeared. Genesis: *"kills" them off one by one* Me:  @_@ NO! NO! NO I DIDN'T MEAN IT! Noooooo I killed them!!!! T_T Genesis: *revives them all* Me: Oh whew. ;;; |
