Dear God... I don't want to bring a fight here, but I need to get this off my chest. I'm a member of [Name removed to protect anonymity] I have four characters there now- Ibeyla Secura, my flagship character, Strake Schatten, another staple character, Mel Un'Gesa, my oddest character, and Anblick Weniger, my blind character. Well, last night another member (who will remain nameless) openly bashed me and my character Mel without any warning or provocation because he wasn't 'physically possible to exist' and then called him a 'poor excuse for a Mary-Sue that should have never been accepted to the forum' and then abruptly left, not giving me a chance to defend myself.
I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but 'flaming' another member and their character because they just don't like him? That's not right...
This has got to be the only forum I feel somewhat safe at after that. Normally something like that wouldn't bother me, but the suddenness and 'viciousness' of the 'attack' was so unwarrented and unexpected that I was caught completely off-guard. No one else had a problem with Mel at all, even though he is a strange character. I'd have been perfectly fine had the person merely explained his dislike for Mel and gave me a chance to explain him further, but no instead he openly attacked me and my character, catching me and two of my friends on the site off guard.
... I don't mean to start anything here, but I need to get this off my chest and start a thread for others to vent their frustrations at other sites in a 'safe' place. Hope that's alright.
EDIT: well, now the person has formally apologized to me and I've forgiven him. So, yeah. But still I want this thread to be a place for people to vent their frustrations with other sites where there are more understanding people. :3

Looked at the forum, looked ok, but still had the flavor of elitist asshat in there. :/

I like the forum, its just some people are easily set off by seemingly 'harmless' things. Other than that one fight I've had no problem. And even that's been smoothed over now.

I have certain people's OCs that I hate, and I'll rant about it to myself, but I only ever openly flame two characters: Yakumo and Marcus. I don't flame a person's character to their face and try to start a fight. I've WANTED to... but I don't, because I'll be honest, in my opinion, characters are the children or friends of their creators... And have you ever seen what happens when you diss someone's friend or child in front of them? HELL. It isn't right, in most cases that I know, the character is a part of the person, a friend of the person, a child of the person, and most of the time, I just can't bring myself to hurt someone so badly as to attack and try to kill their creation, child, friend, piece of them, etc.
(this isn't making any sense.)
If this is a rant-thread, I'd like to point out a certain site that I'm sure many are members of, and I'd REALLY want to point out the real head-in-ass person but they know who they are and I won't make their foolishness that public...
On one forum I was on, one crawling with Fuzors lovers, there was speak of roleplay. Which I was eh with. I had started to develop Frix for it... and his zoids are customized, modified, as you all know, with boosters and agility, but serious drawbacks in other areas to compensate. When I suggested video-game customization (IE using Battle Legends, which i had already started making a stat list for), everyone immediately started screaming 'no customizations, no no no no no' and had such a violent knee-jerk reaction because of godmodded zoids, that they nearly killed Frix.
One said that the video games were very unreliable and terrible source of info, you can stick a CPC on a molga, blah blah blah. To which I clarified I was speaking of Battle Legends, not Legacy... It continued to insist how unreliable it was, so when I apologized for making a fuss, it then admits something that made me want to strangle myself. It never even played Battle Legends. If you haven't PLAYED Battle Legends, then how can you POSSIBLY know how accurate or inaccurate it is?!
that is my rant. I am sorry for ranting.

Yea... it took a week to get Frix to comply (albeit grudgingly) to joining the IFF, which screwed over and he immediately went into recession again, afraid of getting hurt. (god I sound so insane.)

Nah, yur not insane. I have feelings about my OC, Anna and all my characters for Omega in someway, but Anna is most apart of me because she is like me. And someone dissed my character development when I was first trying out profiling them for my story. I kinda felt doubly-bashed because of it.

I go to [Name removed to protect anonymity], and whenever I post, even if it's a simple question, NO ONE responds to me. Ever. I asked about the fanmade Zoids game. And no one responded. All I wanted to know is, where the heck did the thread starter get it from. Is that such a hard question to answer?? I mean come on... all I wanted to know is, wherethefeckdiditcomefrooooom. I've googled, etc, and nothing showed except for a wiki entry of it.
I don't post there anymore unless I'm in the trades section. I'd appreciate it if people do respond to me now and then.... I mean helloooo, not everyone's a fuckin' elite about Zoids |:

Okay, I think we should avoid mentioning other forums by name. This thread should only be about peoples personal experiences with -anonymous- indivduals.
Remember a forum is many different people, who react in different ways
@ibeyla: You get people like that sometimes. The good thing is he apologised. Just don't let that destroy the character. You should see the poking I've had to do to get Wiki to post Frix up ^^

I'm the last poster in it) said he got in the mail on CD, it's got a racing game and a fighting game in it. Dr D had a Breaker custom... fail to recall the name now... ._. |
