I'm actually surprised with myself for actually even doing this for the movie because I have no interest in them XD
So the new live action TF movie will be released this year and is titled "Dark of the Moon" *insert Pink Floyd joke here* Not much is known about it at all other than Shockwave's going to be the main villain and it's suppose to be more like the first movie, getting rid of all the crap that was in the second (I'll believe that when I see it). They also got rid of Megan Slutty Fox only to be replaced by a Victoria's Secret lingerie model (seriously). There's also going to be new Autobots and Cons to replace some others, which really doesn't matter since no one had any character development what so ever.
So uh, the good points are... well, Shockwave. They've asked his usual voice actor, Corey Burton, to reprise the role, but he turned them down saying he didn't want anything to do with the movies (HA!). So now the rumors are that David Warner (Tron's Sark) will voice Shockers. Now this is where it can get really WTF because Burton based Shockers's voice on Warner and actually voiced Sark in the Kingdom Hearts II game in place of Warner. So now Warner has a chance to voice one of Burton's characters... and it's just all confusing from there.

All info from the main TF site for the movie.
Now if you want to see something actually decent, there's the new TV series, Transformers Prime. We've already had a big discussion about it on one of the DA TF groups about how it's a lot darker and more mature than the movies. There's definitely no hiding that it's geared towards the older fans. Heck Starscream even kills a main fan fav Autobot in the very beginning (with bloody gore goodness too!) The art style is a mix of the movie and TFA, but the 3D looks like the Appleseed Ex Machina movie.
Not going to go too deep into it, but I will say the battle scenes are excellent. My particular fav was when Optimus stabbed someone clear through then shot the guy behind the guy he stabbed (while his arm was still through). Was a lot like that move Murasame does in Full Metal Crash.
The only cons of the show is the human characters (well one is fine) and they've used way too many things from past series.
The really short comparison:
Transformers Prime:
Transformers movie franchise:
Yeeeeaaaaahhhh..... way to go Hollywood.
