I had to share my crazy weekend of the Tekkoshocon anime convention. For the most part, we just stalked Steve Blum the entire time, that is going to all of his panels XD By the time we went to his autograph signing, he actually recognized me and said "Oh good I finally get to meet you! I think you've been to all of my panels." We always somehow got front row seats at his panels.
I guess I'll start with Blum since I said so much about him already. This is the first panel I went to that was about Final fantasy 7 with Mega Ran and Steve Blum. I forget who the other guy is, but I do remember him saying that he's a DJ and he kept saying how he was geeking out about being able to sit next to Steve Blum. Every time he did so, Steve would laugh and his face would turn so red XD Mega Ran, the one in the foreground, is actually a teacher, but does music on the side about video games and using the beats from the games for his songs.
The next panel we went to was about the history of the Samurai and Ninja and how the anime is the same/different from the real stuff. It eventually went into a Q&A for Richard Epcar and Steve. Richard is probably most know for his role as Batou in Ghost in the Shell. I have to say these two were absolutely hilarious together.
I think there were only three other panels of his. Two of them were Q&A sessions and I actually video recorded the one. The other panel was the autograph signing. I feel really lucky being one of the 100 out of the 4,000+ people at the con who actually got an autograph and picture with him. Of course we made sure we were at the signing 2 hours early to get in. So I got him to autograph the program book and a picture of Transformers Prime Starscream.
Now how about some cosplays... it was so crowded and loud this year because the entire convention was in a hotel and not in the convention center this year and it made it difficult to take cosplay pics. Most of mine turned out blurry D:
Turnip Head from Howl's Moving Castle and a Vocaloid group shot. My friend is the Kaito cosplay, and we ran into the three girls and asked for a group shot. The Luka cosplay (pink hair one) was really good.
The first one is for Wiki, and full blown light up Tron cosplay! It was so cool and he even had the glowing disc on his back. Sadly I couldn't get a better shot because I was in line for something and didn't see him for the rest of the con. The Halo outfit was actually made by the girl who was wearing it and even told us how she made it. And last is a Meryl Stryfe cosplay from Trigun.
And Ryu in her Shadow Fox cosplay taking a pic with Blum.
And some Gundams I bought in the dealer's room that will soon be Zoids. Sadly there were no Zoids to be found there.
This Susanowo Gundam I got because it had a lot of cool parts for a Saix custom and it has a really cool weapon.
The other Gundam I bought is a Gaddess Gundam and I bought her to make another Z.O.E style Gale. She had the perfect legs for one and they even folded out to make feet. I also really loved the pieces that formed a wing like design.
And finally, something completely random. This is something Ryu won at a Gaia Online panel. Needless to say, we didn't try it XD
