So just like a half an hour ago there was an 5.9 Earthquake by Richmond, Virginia. I felt it here in western Pennsylvania and it was strange. The tv station went out and my chair began to rock slightly. I know Pittsburgh is being evacuated in case of aftershocks and there are damage reports. Did anyone else in the US feel it?

I know our Death Stinger mod is East Coast, so she may have got a bit of a shaking. Speaking of the East Coast, hunker down, looks like Irene might head your way although it's still too early to give a definite landfall projection, but she could be a biggie so watch out.

Hilariously I felt it, but no coworker did, Mom didn't, and just about anyone standing at the time didn't. Apparently you had a better shot feeling it if you were sitting. For me, I first thought they were digging again.. When they were digging for the new waterline just outside our town, if they hit something just right, a little quiver would go through the house, but last less than a second. So when it quivered, and quivered, and quivered, and quivered, I panicked more about how long the trembling was lasting. Then it stopped and I calmed. One girl thought someone was shaking her bed to wake her, another person who was standing thought all her sitting coworkers were fucking with her (that's the weird part. Every single one of them felt it, EXCEPT the only worker standing. She didn't feel a thing. ) so it was weird. XD Didn't feel too impressive, for me at least. And yes, Irene's gonna try to get us. Ocracoke is definitely having a mandatory evacuation, and Hatteras might. Not sure about where I live just yet. (I hope not. Evacuating with two snakes might be hard. That and I'd have to get Gucci's foodstuffs. Still tubefeeding her.)

Reminds me of when they set off an old Luftwaffe air dropped mine, shook the whole house.
Yes, watch yourself with Irene, she's shaping up to be a nasty piece of work although there's a chance she might curve further east and just give you a wild and windy day.
Oh, great, that means that we're going to get the remnants of Irene in a week or two then. Just when I thought the fencing was going to survive this year.

Good that you're okay Wiki! There's an image that's been circulating Tumblr recently about the earthquake, along with loads of edits of it.

Oh bloody hell, she's tracked back west. Sorry Wiki, she's gunning for NC right now. I'd prepare to have to bug out. I thought the jet stream would push her further out to sea. Dammit.

Oh yeah that hurricane is looking nasty! Be safe Wiki! If it comes up the coast line like they're predicting, I'm going to get some of it too DX
And that picture... LOL!!! The best part of that earthquake was watching the news and watch all the people from the west coast go "what the hell are you guys fussing over?" XD One of my friend's dad was very close to where it happened, and he was in a building. When it hit, he said they actually saw the cement floor wave O__O

On another forum I know a guy who does logistics work for FEMA and the like, and he just posted this message: Well fellers....FEMA has advise the flood gates are opening. With the direction change of the storm each state from NC up to Maine are being treated as potential disaster areas. The next 5 days + will prove extremely busy for me and sleep will be a fond memory... Take care guys, seriously. I hope she will lose strength on the way up, but just keep out of her way if you can. I wish I could head over there to help you guys out with moving stuff.

Just gave my best wishes to my friend in Philadelphia, Deathwing in New York, and Itman in New Jersey. I'm just glad it's not going to hit my uncle down in South Carolina, but looks like it's going to really hit Wiki hard D: I think me and ShadowRebirth will be fine because of the front we get from Canada should push it away, but I'm still worried about the getting those high winds. Just saw on the news how they're evacuating all the planes and ships from the navy bases.

I imagine Wiki won't be around on here for a while whilst she's bugging out. Best wishes girl, and stay safe...it's not changing course yet...

Yeah I'd be seriously surprised if she didn't have to evacuate by now
