We haven't had a review in awhile and I always think HMMs are the most important to review to know where glue points or fragile pieces may be.
Personally, I think the HMM Zero is probably the most stable and easier builds of the larger HMM models. It doesn't fall apart like a lot of the others do and has great poseability. Overall verdict on the Jager is highly recommended, and coming from me who originally had no interest in Jager, is really good. The boosters where originally what turned me off the HMM variant, but they really grew on me and now I love them. The shoulder/hip armor designs are a really intersting take on the originals seeing that they had to completely alter them a good bit to keep the posability. Just like the other Zero CASs, the head poseability is limited by the armor. Speaking of the head armor, the cheek armor pieces really make his face look a bit chubby from certain angles. The boosters were pretty easy to put together in comparison to the Blade Liger's AB ones. It's cool when you pull the top pieces up and all the fins automatically fold out. And that's about it... I still like Schneider better though LOL
Places to glue:
On Zero base:
- Upper teeth (J2, J3, & J5) (They will like to constantly pop off when you try putting them on)
- Side chest pieces (B2 & B4) (These pop off when you pull a leg out to pose a lot)
- Tail (H3 & H4, DON’T glue H5) (I suggest replacing the tail completely with wire. A lot of the joints can support the weight of the end tail piece)
- Leg to body connectors (E16, E17, E21, E28) (Mine have always popped out when I try to pose a leg)
- Anywhere you can in step 11 (Step 11 will pop apart when posing and cause liger to sag instead of keeping straight if you put on a base)
On the Jager armor:
- The fin piecs sticking out of the head armor (R4, O15, R5, O16
- Top mane piece on the head (V12 onto V15)
To ignore:
This is one of those cool on paper and in theory only kind of thing. It's like the blade holders on the HMM Blade Liger. There are these little arms that are there to hold the boosters in place when they aren't deployed. They don't like to stay on them and they don't allow the boosters to move out of the way enough to pose the head certain ways. It's just way easier to not use them. Directly below you can see the little black arms that attach to part O7:
And some pics!
And Jager had officially met Starscream. Because all new zoids and transformers must learn to get along together on my shelves >:3
Starscream: "With our superior speed and agility, it will not take long for Megatron to bow to me... I mean uh,us, instead!"
Jager: "What did I get into? T.T"
