ZPCC 2012- Dark Pteras

Here's my Dark Pteras I did for the contest. Mildly detailed. Black parts and other small stuff were handpainted while the greens were sprayed. Done a white undercoat (til the can ran out, fortunately it was enough to completely take away the blues and brighten up his grey parts in one go XD








Didn't have any good photo location with better lighting to do the indoor shots with white background. Done the outdoor shot to show the green's brightness (as much as possible anyway XD).

The gun switch is a nice touch.

Deochalcum is the mineral that causes Zoids to become Dark Zoids and emit the awesome greeny radiation (explanation by Tilly www.pointytilly.net/zoids/bswiki/index.php/Deochalcum )

@ghostie: There's a couple of them on ebay as far as I know...

The Dark Zoid color scheme works really well for the Pteras. The opaque canopy makes me a little sad and the green structure looks like it can use some line detailing, but regardless, this is a fine piece of work. Painting the missiles a seperate color was a good idea; helps them stand out to remind us that the Pteras isn't unarmed.

Thanks ;D Yeah I figured the missiles should at least have some colour in them so it doesn't look bland against the Dark scheme. I had to go for the opaque canopy because most of the Dark Zoids bar the newer ones had opaque ones (plus I have no molding stuff and the materials to make a green one ^^; ).

It does make me wish Tomy had continued to work with the Dark Zoids... their schemes are the coolest ;D
