Because they're trying to appeal to a male audience. Don't forget Zoids are specifically designed for guys. On the subject of the figure I've been wondering when this was finally gonna hit pre-order. Would love to get it, but I could struggle with the price. Maybe I should see if I can coerce Mum to get it for me as a Christmas prezzie.

Then they're close minded assholes to think that females don't take interest in this too. Or gay males for that matter. And I'm with ye Pirate. I wonder that about every single female in fantasy evar. STEEL BRA IS NOT BREASTPLATE. well it is but not a very useful one. I STAB JOO IN GUT. Ha ha!

I often feel there are more female fans of zoids, particularly the long term devoted ones. As for these things, It's amusing they are going down this path and exploring what looks to be a fetish market. Mind you I don't take much interest in them and personally wont be buying one but I bet they will be popular. And yes I do agree they should make Male characters , fair is fair right. They need a female designer in there.

While I agree that fair is fair, the fact remains that women are simply not the target audience. Complaining about this is a bit like complaining that Hasbro aren't catering to My Little Pony's adult male fanbase because the target audience is clearly little girls or that there's never any options to play a female character in games like Battlefield or Team Fortress 2, despite the fact that I know girls who enjoy those games.
This is a long running theme in most anime too, not just Zoids. We all know Japan are obsessed with women with big breasts and panty shots. In fact I will bet anything if you turn that Zoid girl upside down you will find they sculpted her panties just as carefully as everything else.
Let's also bear in mind that not only are women not the target audience, but neither are people living outside of Japan, so if you're going to complain that they're not making Zoidy stuff for women you might as well complain that the instructions aren't printed in all the languages Zoid fans speak.
tl;dr Japan is the target audience and we should be lucky we're getting anything Zoidy at all.

I'm with Ghostie on this. And on the topic of her clothing, maybe it's just cosplay and not actually a functional suit? And look at those fantasy games, the higher level a chick is the skimpier her armour gets (well okay MOST fantasy games) or more impractical. This is fantasy, it's not supposed to be real. Real world rules doesn't exist in animes (some of it maybe) and other fictional things. I enjoy games that were actually geared towards males and you don't see me complaining. Yes it sucks there isn't female characters but I couldn't care less, the format of the game is all the same regardless of character gender. Don't get me wrong, I do get happy when a new release gets a female character in it. It's freakin' Japan, what do you expect?
