So me and Deathy have been investigating the option to upgrade to Proboards v5 and we're currently running it through Betazone before deciding whether to upgrade or not. Seems pretty snazzy so far though it's taken some work to get the banner to fit right. Thankfully I seem to have worked out that little kink so for all you interested here's the link to view The Zoidian in v5 (Please note that this is only a copy of the forum and will be deleted, so keep all important postings to the regular forum please ^^) thezoidian.freemessageboards.com/Lemme know what you think and if we should go ahead with the upgrade. |

Design mostly. There's also a shoutbox at the bottom of the page, the option for bigger avatars also I believe and smoother editing for mods. There's probably other differences I haven't found yet.

My primary concern is that I haven't really heard much about these guys and that they might suddenly go tits up whereas proboards are a fairly stable group with a broad userbase and is well known.

Well I could be wrong, but I though it was still proboards. The logo in the tab certainly seems to suggest that. I don't know what the final URL will be but I assumed the freemessageboards one was temporary for the test site.

BetaZone is a testing program of Proboards xDD So basically the "converted" TZ will be temporarily on the address Ghostie had provided, any posts made there will not be carried over to this board since it's under a different address.
It's pretty much more streamlined and easier for admins to change themes depending on their level of knowledge. AND SHINY AND WORKING NEWS SCROLLER ;D

My only complaint is that the "stories from around the web" thing is freaking me out.
