Yea I like laptops for the convenience of being able to drag it everywhere. Nice to have when there isn't a desktop to be found at college and I need to work on a paper or want to play computer games in class. >.> <.< >.>

yeah XD I know all about the latest desktops, but I have never had a good experience with a laptop, as the only laptop I have ever owned was made in the year 2000 and weighs (and I quote) 11.5 pounds! ITS FREAKING HEAVY!!! I wish I had just a normal one that weighed like 4 pounds, so my back wouldn't hurt from lugging it around school all day... and the fact that the battery lasts for 20 minutes on minimum backlight which is unreadable... actually, max is unreadable as well XD

I want one that is entirely indestructible even from a Dynamite! But heh, that's wild dream XDDD I'm getting a Compaq! Don't complain about it or I'll be loading my Molga Launcher! (yes, a new weapon I thought of for Ultrasaurus >) ) It'll be similar to Ghostie's one. And I've had VERY good experience with Compaq. Dell is an insult. Their computers are TERRIBLE. I know Ghostie hates Medions XD *owns an imported Medion* Mac... er... it's.... okay? But, not exactly my type XD IBM is pretty good.... HP is good... Acer is... okay? XD ASUS= awesome

The "catching fire" thing was an issue with a particular batch of battery that, iirc, affected a few other computers too.
Now, I have a few words to say about the slot drives in their studio line (short version: they're crap), and about a couple of the preinstalled things on the Mini 10v (easily removed, but I completely fecked Ubuntu for a bit because I didn't realize one of them was connected to key drivers XD). But I don't outright hate Dell. They're just another computer manufacturer.
I'd build my own laptop, but I don't want to think about the cost. Really, find me another major laptop manufacturer that has what I want from a computer, won't stick Windows or Mac OS on my computer to start ("you can uninstall it" doesn't count, I don't want to pay for an OS from a company I dislike), AND will assure me I won't be caught in Network Card Hell sticking Ubuntu on it, then we can talk about how Dell sucks ;p.

But we all know Dells like to catch fire! XD And Medion? Feh! Don't talk to me about Medion ¬¬ XDDDD My step-dad was so rude the other day. I was just reading through a Dell business brochure, and said "Feh, I hate Dells, they're crap" and he was like "You're just your mother, don't understand technology" and I was like "Well STFU. You don't understand Dell." T'was nearly ready to punch 'im out. Dells are shit. End of Story. Every Dell I mess about on... they are just... arrrgh. COMPAQ rawks!!

well yes, NEARLY all dells are crap. However, the only good laptop they have EVER made is my dell, which was made in the year 2000 and is still going STRONG. The batteries suck, but all 9 year old batteries suck XD other then that, I don't really like dell, I prefer, as everyone said, compaq, hp's, etc etc and I'm a huge IBM fan XD
