I have finally have started on building my HMM Great Sabre! When I opened the box, I was bit put out that the "black" is actually gray. Koto, you gave Van's Blade Liger black legs why can't you make Great Saber black? I decided I need to paint my HMM Great Sabre black.  Here a pic of comparing painted shoulder piece to the unpainted hip piece.  I have been painting some of the face parts to red, looks better in red than gray, (used Testor dark red and Krylon cherry red). I also detailing the pieces as I go, the teeth and toes are painted silver. I am not painting the red bits, they are unpainted.  I have never like the gap between the nose and eyes on HMM Saber Tigers, so I gave him a nose job. This guy here is my first time painting a HMM (most of the time I just details them,) it is very time consuming and naturally I suffers from some setbacks. Shadowblade, I don't how you do it, you have my admiration. |

Wow it looks so much better black than gray. Makes it looks more menacing and I completely agree with you on the red pieces in the face. You might also want to try painting the back of the eyes white to make them looks like they glow since they seem to get lost in the black.  ... I don't know what to do with mine yet D: it is very time consuming and naturally I suffers from some setbacks. Shadowblade, I don't how you do it, you have my admiration. LOL! Yeah they take A LOT of patience to customize and paint. But if you do put in that extra time, the HMMs can look really wicked. |

Oh man, just imagine how nice that's gonna look when it's done ^_^ . The black makes it look ten times better. And all those red details you're adding are awesome too. I can't wait to see this one finished!

Thanks for for the pep talk guys!  Yes, HMMs are gorgeous once painted and detailed. I made a lot progress, right now I got the legs built (waiting for paint to dry) and moving on to weapons. Shadowblade, thanks for putting up pic of yours, it shows how different mine is from stock. I'm sure you'll think of something awesome for your tiger. |

I didn't realize the black made such a huge difference from the original charcoal color. When you get done with it, you should photo it with the Brastle Tiger. I think they would look great together :3 |

Should have updated awhile back.  Anyway, here Drac as catpillar, his name is Drac short for Dracula.   Here is Terra, (short for terra cotta), tormenting the newest tiger. Drac: "Ow, stop it!" Terra: "What you are going to do about it? Hee hee!" Drac: "I am gonna bite your caps off!" Terra: ". . ." When you get done with it, you should photo it with the Brastle Tiger. I think they would look great together :3 YES! DO that! I think so too ! Remind me to dust my Brastle Tiger, before I take pictures. Otherwise, he'll looks like a gray/red tiger. |

Late as usual, Drac was actually done before Thanksgiving.  Here he is with my Brastle Tiger, Drac is a big boy isn't he?  Closeup with the details.  Here Drac with his weapons unattached.   Looking good, Drac! The big fins don't stay in one pose very well, a flaw in other wise excellent kit.  I decided to rearrange the weapons, they were all on one side! I like this arrangement better, not mention the HMM Great Sabre kit comes parts for regular Saber Tiger and additional parts to mount even more weapons.  Drac is getting know my Lightning Saix in cautious manner. Whew! Took a lot of work, I am very pleased with results. Drac turned out a lot better than I expected, he even wowed my mom. |
