So why the hell are we suddenly accusing him of art theft, when all he seems to be guilty of is trying to gain maximum profit at minimum expense... Which at the end of the day is something all businesses do.

(I was browsing dA when suddenly FF crashed, next thing I knew, the google links were redirecting to fucked up sites, and then the day I got it back from Staples, the redirects got massively worse and the next day Spiro died) |

I hold personal grudges because it was a banner advert that started the crap that ultimately killed Spiro... (I was browsing dA when suddenly FF crashed, next thing I knew, the google links were redirecting to fucked up sites, and then the day I got it back from Staples, the redirects got massively worse and the next day Spiro died) Thank Kami for No Script and... uh... whatever that Ad Blocker you use is called. |

I can see the logic behind this guys article, it is after all how businesses aim to run. Though the not paying until complete thing is a little harsh. If I was working on a large project I would want to be paid as I completed pieces of the project because the commissioner could never pay you or cancel the project while you were mid working on it.
On art work stealing, its horrible. I wish people would grow up or at least give proper credit. I see Risky's art all over the place. There was even a girl on youtube using a piece as a bg claiming she had drawn it and asking people how they liked it. ^^; I wanted to write a comment on her page but her account got deleted soon afterwards (I had nothing to do with its deletion), but serves her right anyhow.
TBH I don't mind dA, it's a fun community and a great place to meet friends (I never would have met any of you if not for dA!). I just don't like how people have started using it as a photo dump. :/

Well I see his article in the light of businesses I've encountered... You don't usually pay until after your car is fixed... You don't usually pay until after your computer is repaired... You don't usually pay until after the doctor's appointment. Granted in such circumstances, you are kinda trapped until you do pay, in which what I would do is show the commissioner heavily watermarked images of the WIPs and the only way to remove the watermarks is to pay in full. Just my two cents. |

I still kinda like it too but I liked it alot more when it was smaller when I first joined, under my first username which I can't remember cause it was ages ago. Just look at the FB menu bar then look at DA. Too similar in some ways.
I'd kick anyone's ass if they steal my arts lol. And I've kinda been meh-ish about DA... their "Muro" is just another money stealing plot. 350 effing points just to DL brushes while they promised it'd be all free... who wants to buy brushes just to do cooler pics...

Now that you mention it, it does look a little like facebook, though I suppose that's to be expected since FB has ridiculous amounts of users. Maybe that's why I didn't find the website upgrade too bad. ^^; I'm indifferent about Muro. I will probably never use it. Paying for the brushes is silly if they said it would all be free. I guess my thing is I can get free brushes for Photoshop any time I want, so why would I use Muro and pay for brushes? XD |
